The Modern Game Times' mission is to digitize the colourful history of the American Pit Bull Terrier for all generations to enjoy. This was started when I realized how much harder it was becoming to find and even afford some of the books and magazines that detail this great breed. So I decided it would be my mission to save as much content I could and publish it before the written history of the breed disappears forever.

Feel free to bookmark the blog and check us out daily. There is a new post up every day at 5AM EST. Currently I am working through putting up the American Game Dog Times. I am not sure what I'll start putting up after that, so feel free to offer some suggestions!

About Me
Pit bulls have been one of my favourite breeds for as long as I can remember, but much of my knowledge about the breed was shrouded in myths and bad advice. I loved pit bulls for all the wrong reasons, and realized I was looking at the dog more like it was a poodle than a pit bull. So, one day, completely on accident, I came across another blog whose sole mission was to take people's questions about the breed, no matter how silly those questions, and answer them in as much detail as possible. I learned more about the breed that day than I ever had listening to the likes of the HSUS or the ASPCA.

So now, while I do not have pit bulls (yet!), and I would consider myself purely "book-smart", I have surrounded and educated myself through the many books and magazines written on this awesome breed. I have made everlasting friendships with the men and women who work hard every day to preserve what truly makes this dog different than the rest. While I do not have pit bulls yet, I am more prepared to own this breed than I ever was in the past.
